FAQS

What are the club fees and operating costs?

We are are the most affordable way to fly in the Wilmington - Greater Philadelphia area. The one-time membership entrance fee is $2,200, with monthly dues currently at $190. The hourly rates fluctuate with fuel prices and are currently $144/hr (wet) on the tach for the Cessna 182 and $92/hr (wet) on the tach for the Cessna 150. Tach time is always less than the more traditionally-used Hobbs time, making our flying even more affordable. Insurance is included in the membership fee.

When does the club meet?

We hold virtual meetings on the second Wednesday of every month from 7:30pm to typically about 9:30pm.

Can I learn to fly with the club?

Yes, the Club does accept student pilots as members and maintains relationships with area instructors.

What is the airport like?

We are based out of Wilmington/New Castle Airport (KILG). It is a class D airport with a tower and a mix of both jet and general aviation traffic. It is a great airport for training and general flying alike because it isn't very busy and offers the perks of a large airport.

How does the club run?

The club is viewed as an equal partnership. As a member, you are an equal owner of the airplanes and are expected to take equal responsibility for them. Some members who are savvy with tools are able to take part in small maintenance projects, whereas others assist in planning for the future, for example.
